About Youth Unlimited
A YFC Worker's Manifesto | To be a disciple and evangelist with YFC means that above all else, we abide in Christ. We seek Him first and rely on Him, knowing that we can do nothing apart from Him.
From that flows our love for the lost, and the reason we do what we do. He enables and empowers us to love these kids.
We believe that belonging is an essential need of all people; that we have been hard-wired by God to live in community. Discipleship flows out of this need – this is why we live out relational evangelism. This is why we create communities and develop relationships. This happens when we LISTEN.
We listen to the cries of broken homes and broken hearts, the cry for Truth in a postmodern world, believing that today, truth comes in human form, through us.
We seek to understand culture and use it as a tool to connect and communicate with kids. We’re not salespeople, we’re travel guides. We rely on the Holy Spirit, looking for what God has already been doing and following His lead.
We’ve come to realize the power of Story, uncovering their story, sharing our story, and pointing towards God’s story. We believe that we need to be real, be authentic, not to appear as though we have it all together but rather that we are fellow travelers on this journey, wrought with our own weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
We’ve learned it’s not about us. It’s about them and ultimately about Christ and His Kingdom, both on earth and in heaven.
We are merely willing vessels who have the amazing privilege of being apart of His work.
